Here are details: Last year I found myself in the challenging position of needing to sell a condominium. I'm a Washington resident and, as the administrator of my niece's estate, it was my responsibility to navigate the potentially scary process of selling her San Diego condo. My California attorney recommended that I contact Lauren Empey, a realtor who she had personally worked with recently. I reached out to Lauren and immediately knew she was the right realtor for me. As soon as I met her in person, the whole condo-selling project started going in the right direction. There were many improvements which needed to be made to the property, but with Lauren's expertise, progress was made. Since I couldn't be physically present during much of this, Lauren took charge of dealing with workers, cleaners and contractors to ensure that work on the condo was done right. Finally, the day came when Lauren could do the classic things that a realtor does: she figured out a reasonable asking price, hosted a neighborhood Open House, and was a knowledgeable presence when prospective buyers viewed the condo. Lauren knew what to do during the entire process, including negotiating when multiple offers were submitted. I am over-the-top happy with the result and am so grateful that I worked with Lauren all the way to the end.

Lauren helped us sell our first starter home (that she helped us buy 6 years ago) and purchase our dream home this past summer. I truly do not think we would have gotten our home if it weren’t for all of Lauren’s efforts. We had to make a contingent offer, and our sellers were already in escrow and hoping for something more guaranteed. After many open houses, conversations, and negotiations, our offer was accepted and we had to move fast to get our house listed and sold! Lauren spent multiple days with us doing yard work and staging to get us ready. She spared no expense on beautiful photos and digital tours. We listed in mid-July, as the market was fluctuating wildly and buyers were incredibly hesitant. Lauren did not give up at any point, and pushed social media marketing and open houses. She followed up with potential buyers and accommodated private showings quickly. We ended up with a competitive offer for the market (and a backup offer) with a couple we loved and who loved our home. This was not an easy market to work in, and Lauren acted as agent, consultant, and therapist through the whole process. Navigating all of the selling and buying paperwork was a ton of work, but Lauren kept us on track every step of the way. Her understanding of the full process and all the legal requirements really made things so much less stressful, as I knew we wouldn’t miss any important items or deadlines. We closed escrow on time, thanks to her referral of our loan broker Kim Carlson (also a dream!). I have recommended Lauren to my closest friends, and they also have had great experiences. I would never want to go through the crazy home purchase process with anyone other than Lauren. Her knowledge, flexibility, and personality is unparalleled.

I have bought and sold several houses and Lauren is by far the best realtor I've ever worked with. She's extremely knowledgeable about San Diego coastal communities from OB/Point Loma to North County. I'm from out of town and she helped me take my time to explore the different vibes of each community and land in a great house in La Jolla that is perfect for me. She is incredibly detailed and helped me avoid buying into a different HOA that had a lot of financial issues, which I'm super grateful for! Highly recommended!

We have now worked with Empey Realty two times in purchasing properties. We have had an excellence experience both times. The most recent one involved a 1031c exchange making the transaction complicated. Lauren Empey is much more than a realtor. She is a realtor and a project manager - keeping us on track with all activities such as loans, appraisals, and getting multiple quotes for items that needed to be remediated so we have a good basis for negotiation. She would be the one going on our behalf to meet contractors when we were not available. She is very efficient, highly communicative, and very reliable and dependable.
